Write Nights

Ever had one of those nights? You're tired after an over-full day, feeling good, and you go to bed perfectly content. Then a thought, niggling, invades - if I may be so conceited as to quote myself - and you think of something. You tell yourself - oh, nice idea. I'll develop that tomorrow... time to sleep now. BAM! Next thing you know, its 2 am, and you're awake and hammering away on a keyboard. Very Jerry Maguire writing mission statements-ish...

So you might assume that's what I'm doing here? Writing late at night on a burst of inspiration from an idea I had? Actually, I'm not. I just finished reading a book for three hours and then watching TV for five.

Which is what has me up, and hammering away on a keyboard. I haven't had one of those crazy write-nights in a long time. I used to do have them a lot - as recently as in Jan 05. I've done crazy stuff like going to office at 3 am because it afforded the only accessible computer, or not sleep at all on a work night!

I miss the ideas, and the writing and the late nights that melded into mornings. Really.
