Revamp - (2)

Did some housekeeping on the blog today. The last such job having happened over a year and a half back in April 2005!

The biggest change is actually not all that noticeable. I've moved the blog to the new Blogger Beta. The other salient changes are:

  1. Added labels to all posts; so if you want to read, say, all the posts I've made here in the past two years related to 'Travel n Photo' or 'Philosophy' or 'Books n movies' or some such, just use the links in the section in the sidebar to access them!
  2. Added the cool new Archive tree display - by year/ month/ post title. It rocks!
  3. Removed Technorati, and the displayed counter. I figure they were just clutter that I didn't really use.
  4. The summary/ search result pages now have a much more streamlined interface. Instead of showing all the posts in a given month/ label/ search result, it will simply show the titles as an expandable link.
  5. Refreshed the Recommended 'Friends' blog list; added some of the blogs I read regularly these days, and removed some links that I have given up hope will ever again be refreshed!
  6. Spent a LOT of time figuring out how to enable the "Read more" and 'peekaboo comments' features on the new Blogger template. While this doesn't alter user experience greatly from what I already had in the old template, it was fun. Credit to this Beta Blogger Hack blog for all the help!
  7. Lastly, made some changes to the profile, which was out of date. Debated at length about whether or not to upload any photos of meself, and then decided against it.
So there... that's done. Now for two more posts to work on - a review of the new Bond flick (maybe - if I find the time) and the upload of a "best of" photo gallery that I've been working on for some time now (this one you can take to the bank).

Until then, cheerio... Oh, and feedback welcome!
